Starlink plans & equipment
Is there a contract with Starlink?
Starlink plans in Canada are currently month-to-month with no long-term contract. Starlink also runs hardware and plan promotions from time to time. Pricing and promotions are set by Starlink and vary by location, so we help you check what's available at your address.
Do I need to buy the Starlink kit before you install it?
Either way works. You can order a genuine kit directly from Starlink or an authorized retailer and we'll install it, or we can help you choose the right kit, plan and mounting hardware before you order.
Do you use official Starlink equipment?
Yes. We only install genuine Starlink hardware and official accessories, plus carrier-certified LTE/5G routers and professional-grade networking equipment. We never use counterfeit cables, mounts or power supplies.
Are you affiliated with Starlink or SpaceX?
No. We are an independent installation company. Your Starlink service and plan are with Starlink directly; we take care of the professional installation and setup.
Installation
Will Starlink work during a Manitoba winter?
Yes. Starlink dishes have a built-in snow-melt feature. We plan mount height and location so snow drifts, roof slides, ice and wind don't get in the way, and route cables to avoid stress in extreme cold.
How long does a Starlink installation take?
A typical home installation takes a few hours. Pole mounts, long cable runs, multi-building farm setups, mesh networks and failover systems can take longer. We'll give you a time estimate with your quote.
Where can the dish be mounted?
On pitched or flat roofs, walls and fascia, chimneys, poles and masts, or on the ground with non-penetrating mounts. We choose the mount based on your structure, sky view, snow and wind exposure. See mounting options.
Will you drill holes in my house?
Usually a single small cable entry is needed. We seal every penetration with weatherproof entry hardware and sealant. Where drilling isn't possible, we can use non-penetrating mounts and existing entry points.
Can you get internet to my shop, barn or second building?
Yes. We use outdoor-rated cable runs, point-to-point wireless bridges and outdoor Wi-Fi access points to extend your connection to shops, barns and other outbuildings.
LTE / 5G & failover
Is LTE/5G good enough as my main internet?
It can be, if you're a light user and your cellular data plan covers your needs, and if cell coverage at your location is decent. For heavy streaming, gaming or several users, Starlink is usually the better main connection.
What is Starlink + LTE failover?
A dual-WAN router uses Starlink as the main connection and automatically switches to an LTE/5G connection if Starlink goes down, then switches back when Starlink recovers. Because the backup is only used when needed, a small data plan is usually enough. Learn more about failover.
Which cell carriers do you work with?
We are carrier-neutral and work with routers and SIM cards for the major Canadian networks, including Bell MTS, Rogers and Telus and their brands. We can help you compare which network is strongest at your location.
My cell signal is weak. Can LTE/5G still work?
Often, yes. We do an on-site signal survey and install an outdoor directional or omni MIMO antenna aimed at the best tower, which can make a large difference in rural areas.
RVs & vehicles
Can you install Starlink on an RV, truck or car?
Yes. We install Starlink on RVs, campers, trucks and cars using permanent low-profile mounts or quick-release brackets, with sealed roof entry, fused 12V power and tidy cable routing. See vehicle installs.
Can I use Starlink while driving?
In-motion use requires a compatible Starlink kit, an approved mounting method and a plan that supports it. We'll make sure your setup qualifies and never place equipment where it blocks the driver's view.
Pricing & booking
How much does installation cost?
It depends on the mount type, cable run length, building access, travel distance and any extras such as mesh Wi-Fi or failover. We provide a free, no-obligation quote before any work starts. Request your quote.
